. Which by the way gave us an amazing view. The other amazing thing we saw was someof the guys with us doing flips and jumps. At the end of the day he was doing so well. He even managed to escape the terrible injury he was expecting. He scored his only major bruise right at the end of the day when he came down the last slope and fell smack on his arse on ice. I have a pretty big bruise near my knee from Felix crashing into me after I careened wildly past him then stacked and he came after me – and found his turning wasn’t as good as he thought it was.
Well, that’s a lot I’ve had to say after all. I was so grumpy with the whole snowboarding thing when we were out there, Felix said to me something about how I was going so have so much to write about this day and how great it would be and I said sourly, "I’ll just write 'snowboarding is shit’ and that’s all, coz that’s all I think of it." So by comparison I think I’ve done very well. And I don’t really think snowboarding is shit, I just don’t really have much desire to learn how to do it, congratulations to all of you who have.
Today we went snowboarding. Felix loved it and picked it up very well. He should be the one writing this blog; I didn't have such a good day. I spent most of the day sitting in the snow seeing red and feeling very, very mad. It was SO infuriating. Stand up, slip 2 meters, fall over, try to stand up, slip over, stand up, slip over, pull ankle in a way it shouldn’t be pulled, stand up, fall over on knees, that’s going to bruise, slide on bum, try to stand, slip, stack. It took less then an hour for me to give up. I think to learn snowboarding you have to really want to. Daniel helped me a lot which saved the day completely, with his help, I was able to get a bit of a feeling for it. At the end of the day, I finally managed to go backwards about five meters without stacking. Not being able to move my feet independently of each other, despite it being the thing that makes it work, made me very nervous. It’s just to fast for me, I can’t think, I just go blank. Felix’s effort was really impressive, not only in snowboarding but in getting me out of the snow, I’d probably have become part of the mountain by now
