We stayed in bed until about 10AM today, then stayed in our little basement apartment until 1PM. We were here by ourselves during the day while everyone was at work so we have just been having a lazy day. Its been snowing all day, maybe all night too but I was asleep so I couldn't see it. This morning it was very soft but it is falling quite heavily now (for us – it is actually still very light snow!). We went for a walk through the town out to the forest in the snow. It was so beautiful, the snow is perfectly soft and powdery, it’s icy underneath but there are a few inches of fresh powder snow on top that’s so light and fluffy. Not very good for building snowmen or forts or snowballs but very, very beautiful, everything is so white. I have this great plan, I want to find some really deep snow, not to icy, and build heaps of trenches and forts that I can run around in. Then make heaps of snowballs and have massive wars everyday. Everyone who hears my plan thinks it is silly, but just imagine how fun it’s going to be!

Thanks Floss and Felix for all these blogs - I've just been through them all and loved being a fly on the wall as you journey through a European winter - specially love these images of the forest in the snow - reminds me of times spent in my childhood and youth in Switzerland
