We landed safely in Frankfurt and were greeted at the airport by Harald and Ute. Harald is Mum's (Konney) cousin. Their son Philip had made a sign with our names, which was so friendly and welcoming - I was hoping they would have a sign, because I’ve never had anyone holding a sign for me and I have always seen it done for other people who look important and rich. They drove us back to their house in Keiselbronn and have welcomed us so warmly. We feel so heart-warmed by their hospitality and generosity. In true German style Ute had made a potato soup with frankfurters and bread rolls for dinner – also, naturally beer and schnapps. We are sleeping in the very top of the house in the point of the A-frame ceiling. It has very steep twisting stairs leading upwards – it’s like our little cubby house. I feel like a child in a fairly tale. This town is how I imagine the towns in the Brother Grimm’s fairytales were like, I’m expecting Hansel and Gretel or Little Red Riding Hood to come round the corner.
