Another early start, (you would think we would have got used to them by now, that however isn´t the case)....and we were on our way to Lake Taupo. Full of excitment with the aim of doing a sky dive later that day in Taupo, we arrived at Burkes Backpackers mid morning. We had already booked a slot to skydive the night before and were due to be picked up by Taupo Skydive at 11.30am. Adrenalin pumping and excitment barely containable we arrive at the airfield, only to be told we couldn´t jump at the moment because of low cloud. We returned to our hostel to wait for our new slot which was 3.30pm. The cloud had not dispersed, infact it had got worse so we were dissapointed again.
Having decided to stick around for the following day, again with the hope of jumping , we soon changed our minds after seeing the weather forecast. The cloud was supposed to get worse and rain was also expected. Instead we jumped on the bus the next morning which turned out to be a good decision as the weather didn´t improve for a good few days. Our hopes for skydiving rested solely in our time up in the Bay of Islands with Flis´dad. Who knows maybe we could persuade him to jump with us?!
