2nd day of driving with absolutely nothing, save for the occasional herd of goats and a pack of camels.
Stopped at an absolutely desolate patch where there were 3 gers (Mongolian tents) for us.
Took another stroll at sunset with Rob, and then we also set our alarm for 2am to wake up to look at stars and maybe even sunrise (sun sets at 10pm and rises at about 3.30am).
Absolutely breath-taking and surreal.
Discussions about American politics, sunset strolls, waxing lyrical about The Alchemist, Shakespearean plays and existentialism under the starry skies... and talking about life in the darkness of a ger.
But like streams in the desert, it's all ephemeral.
As much as it feels like magic, to have found someone witty, intelligent, charming and just great company, I know it will all be over in... 9 days.
I need to snap out of this and be a realist.
