After a night of drunken revelry (for them at least), Nimrod bade us goodbye.
His Visa would expire soon, and so he had to get to Chengdu ASAP, train down to Kunming and get his Vietnam / Thailand visas to continue his trip. (so lucky...)
After that, we travelled from Dege (Rivendell!) to Xiwu, a tiny town where we were supposed to stay for the night.
SUPPOSED.
Because the owners of the only guesthouse in town were out picking Cordyceps, WTF!!!
So we had to move on, backtrack to Jyekundo.
Travelling today has been tough -- we drove thru a blizzard of sorts, bashing the car with snow and leaving the road pot-holed and full of treachourous sleet.
Still, we survived, and got back to Jyekundo tired, grumpy but safe :)

it's cordyceps season at the mo', so there's just a frenzy everywhere we went. it's almost like the gold rush in the US!
