. . (and superbowl I realiased later). I was prepared to call 911 mid-race due to some serious unprepardness (new word!). Running training was great last year - 1 to 2.5 hours everyday, with swim training 3x week and dancing inbetween. Somehow in November I managed to get the dreaded Norwok virus and completely wipe myself out. A month later I could finally consider doing a run longer than 20 minutes without passing away from exhaustion. Just started to get back into shape when I had a little accident on the curling rink and was out of action for 6 weeks with broken body parts.
Thanks to my concerned coach (dad) and santa claus, I got a mini tramp for Chrissy and could train on that (ie. not slippery ice) for a few weeks. Great preparation.....I was prepared for pain.
*7am start *Survived the big race! No defibrillators required! Got medal and photo and jacket!
*Sat on Laguna beach to stretch, eat the free banana, apple, bagel, sports drink and energy gel (you can't say I didn't refuel) and check out the sexy surfboarders!
*Managed to get an invite to a random waiter's party (and I thought the phone number on the bill thing only happened in cheesy American movies) *Passed on the party because I had tickets to ANNIE!!! At Costa Mesa....apparently just down the road. After 3.5 hours of walking down this "road" I gave up and caught a taxi the rest of the 15 minutes. *Amazing kids performing! The dog was my favourite!!!! Check them out..... http://amandabalon.com/VideoGMA.html *Was a funny sight when I tried to stand after 2 hours sitting on my butt. I thought my nose might be permanently fixed to my knees I was so stiff! *Taxi home and fell into bed EXHAUSTED AGAIN!
