This is our last day in Rio and its been WET! we got a proper soaking today.
Yesterday we went to the botanical gardens which was pretty much like any botanical gardens but without the roof.
Today we seem to be wandering a bit knowing we have an early flight tomorrow that should take us to Santiago then were overnight it there for another flight all the way up to Caracas via Lima. Were looking forward to having a bit of new scenery.

unfortunately it rained when we were there. we then headed down to the hippy market in Ipanema which turned out to be good. there was a stage with live rock music (Floyd,Zeplin etc) and lots of stalls selling all sorts of bracelets, bags, flip flops, clothes and all kinds of stuff. While we were wandering around we spotted Simon Calder, the travel journalist with a film crew.

This was pretty funny as you are used to seeing him in far off remote places. We hung out by the stage and enjoyed beer and pizza while watching some crazy local guy throw his jumper about in front of the stage.

last night we headed back out to Bip Bip with some guys in our dorm as it was salsa night. The music was good but there was no dancing. not that i would have been doing any.Today we seem to be wandering a bit knowing we have an early flight tomorrow that should take us to Santiago then were overnight it there for another flight all the way up to Caracas via Lima.
