This morning had to make our way to Thrissur. We were told bus was best option. Whoa!!Another hair raising journey. Tailbacks (is that what you call them? - similar to Sa Calobra,Mallorca) of death + death wishbus drivers = rollercoaster journey extreme - and we were on the back seat. Lots of horn action (no not that type!) and sounds of scraping metal along the rocks as the bus regularly took the corners too tight (due to the buses coming up the hill also at break neck speeds) were the order of the day. A quick change at Palakedd and we were nearly in Thrissur. The buses have 5 seats across and very little leg room (so very tight) and some excellent a/c [Read - no windows]. 10min break stops include guest appearances by beggars, guys selling nuts (they sound like they are at an irish cattle mart at the bidding ) and guys selling the latest indian recipe books [for the mento buy for their wives of course]. Reached Thrissur in one piece into the fancy Casino hotel - Nice!
