We have arrived in the Luxor Hotel, and we finally have t'interweb so we can update you now!
We spent 3 nights in the Stratosphere Hotel which is right up the North end of the Strip. The hotel was comfortable, and had a window seat that I liked sitting in to take in the view of the strip, mountains, and the tower watching the rides going off. The views from the top of the tower were amazing. I could have happily sat up there all night, looking at the lights while supping on a 'Stratoblaster' - cocktail served in a plastic mock Stratosphere tower! tacky, but had to be done!!
Steve went on the rides last night - i chickened out. It was just way too high up there for me to be shot over the edge. Steve went on the 'Insanity' ride first - it shoots you right off the edge of the tower - crazy... Then he went on the 'Big Shot' which shoots you up so fast that you experience 4G force, then you experience weightlessness at the top, then it plummets you back down so you feel a negative 1G
We went for dinner at Planet Hollywood on Friday night, then headed to MGM to watch 'Ka' which is a Cirque de Soleil show. it was AWESOME!!! Steve managed to fall asleep and miss half of it, but he blamed that on the big steak and the beers we had beforehand. We are off to see 'La Reve' at the Wynn tomorrow night, so he is under instructions not to eat or drink first as he won't want to miss any of this!!! (at $100 per ticket he really needs to keep awake for this!!!)
The hotels here are out of this world. We have managed to have a look in almost all of them, and I'm tied for a favourite between the Venetian and the Wynn.
I am pleased to say that my bowels are back into working order... I have had to be good and stop eating so much, so have been on a diet since leaving New York. It's been tough as everything tastes good here, and the Yanks definately love their mahoooosive meat portions!
We did the open top bus thing - sorry Janelle!!!!!!
Shopping.... hmmm that is becoming an issue.... Everytime we venture into the shops we end up buying stuff... We discovered Macy's today, and they had Levis on sale!!!!!!!!! so another pair of Levi jeans were bought, and Steve succomed and joined the Levi fan club as he bought a pair of jeans, and some shorts. The jeans were only $35!!!!!!!!!!! sweet as!!!!!! now we just need to buy some T shirts saying 'we are not a couple' as people keep assuming we are husband and wife. There are lots of hot men here, Steve and I are now having a competition to see who gets a smile back from the hotties to see what their preference is.. I'm winning hands down at the mo!!! Steve also treated me to a Swarzovski ring yesterday, so i have more bling to add to the collection!
Tonight we are heading over to Excalibur hotel to check out a 'tournament of kings' dinner evening, which we think will be some sort of jousting entertainment show.
Steve had an extreme haircut this morning, he went out to get a 'trim' and came back bald. buzzed the lot off!! I've been calling him Doctor Evil all day now...
Right, we have to go explore the Luxor now, got more frozen cocktails to find....
