Amazing breakfast with the giraffes, literally, it makes you forget you have to get up at 5am to travel to the domestic airport to start the first safari in Kenya. So, at 6 am without fail, Eugene picked us up and got us to Wilson airport safe and sound. Yet again we are going through the metal detector and the even x-ray our bags just in case! I did manage to have pocket knife and scissors in my back pack and no one said anything. As we walked to the tarmac to wait for our plane, we discovered a duty free... don't get excited they only stock hard liquor and cigs. So we entered the plane and had a nice hour long ride over northern Kenya. We landed late morning and went straight on our first game drive before going into camp for lunch and an afternoon rest. Camp consists of tents with individual shower and toilet bloc. We all had an afternoon rest and went along for the evening game drive, not very successful so far as the all area is in drought. Most of the game has migrated towards greener pastures. I must say I would have too. We still managed to see Grevey zebras few elephants and lots of dikdiks (small gazelle half the size of a dog) on our way back to camp we did see a lot of donkeys and goats as the local are bringing them in the park to feed. Let’s see what tomorrow will bring.
