Steve thought it'd be fun to go hang out on a rock, not something I would have picked to see but thatīs the beauty of our relationship. We were both a bit taken aback by how big Gibraltar was and that the base is really a cruise ship destination. As we were walking along the shopping street, Steve noticed a sign for Caffreyīs. He had been talking about this beer since we were dating. They donīt sell it in the US but we did get to try some in a can while we were in Canada last year. We hopped into the bar and got two draft pints. Thatīs a way to start an adventure!

There was a cable car that you could take to the top but we decided to huff it. The sun was out, it was a remarkably clear day and we wanted to save the money. Weīd spent 10 euros on two pints of beer but 18 on a roundtrip cable ride seemed ridiculous! HA! So we ended up hiking the Mediterranean Steps up the backside, hanging out with tons of birds, walking acoss the top, stopping to see some monkeys and back through the tunnels and Moorish castle sites. We actually didnīt pay to see any of the tourist sites as they didnīt seem worth it. The views on the hike were great and that was all we needed to enjoy the Rock of Gibraltar. As we were leaving, the road going out (and coming in) has a airplane landing strip which everyone has to cross. It had just been closed off so we got to see a plane land and then took the bus back to Algecerias.
