First impression of Toronto: YUCK! There was so much construction on the road and it looked so poor. I think a bit of the shock was that we came in the wrong side of town and that it resembled a US city too much. We were meeting up with Steve's parents, who just purchased their own motor home, and we were planning on caravaning. We felt bad that they drove from Michigan, where they had met up with other friends, for a 9 hr drive into Toronto. That's how bad I thought it was.

Once we were in the city center it got better. It lost its charm without a French identity though. We parked at Roger Center and strolled through the Entertainment District. Surprisingly, most of it was closed. The Steam Whistle Brewery closed at 6 pm?! Then we got back and I found a parking ticket on just our RV saying we were a chartered bus which we clearly are not. That is being disputed and we are hoping we don't have problems going into Vancouver!

We had back up parking, by a beach and bought a $10 transport card which was good on their buses, subways and street cars. We saw the entire city in a day! Still wasn't overly impressed and I'd skip it next time around... At least we were having fun with Steve's parents!
