Claire had chosen to spend the day at the Zoo so we head off, not before we spent about an hour looking for Liam’s wristband (they are for the kids to get into the games room pool toilets etc.) We literally pulled the van apart, in the end he stopped to go to the loo and in a bizarre twist found it hanging on the back of the toilet door, what are the odds of that?
I digress; off to the Zoo we go driving through the city, truly the City of Churches, they are just about on every corner also cranes, worse than Melbourne they look like they are building a whole new city
! We find the zoo but in an interesting tourist twist, no car-parking, bizarre. We spend ages driving around finally finding a park almost in the next suburb, oh well walk will do us good. We start our walk around seeing all the usual suspects of a zoo, giraffe’s tortoise, reptile’s etc. walking through the petting zoo Liam has a bag of food where a sneaky goat takes bag & all, then off to find the Panda’s. Quick stop at the Panda’s they are not very active and surprisingly just like the panda’s at Ocean Park in Hong Kong! Stop for lunch then round-up to make sure we’ve seen everything, turns out we missed some monkeys! We stood for ages watching some Squirrel Monkeys the funniest little guys with real personalitiy, if we’d have seen them first I think we would have missed the rest of the animals. Our last stop is the gift shop Claire buying a toy squirrel monkey (although I’m sure she would prefer a real one). We finish at the Zoo and head back to have a game of tennis, Moscato time will have to wait! Then start the pack up ready to head off in the morning.
Mackay’s Making Memories
Claire bear's Birthday! Up early shower get presents ready wake Emma & Liam cook pancakes and still she sleeps...time to wake up Claire! No-where to put candles in pancake so Emma holds them while we sing, not alot of room on the bottom bunk quite funny really and you never know with Claire we have a rule, NEVER WAKE CLAIRE. Waking to pancakes and presents is the key we got a smile she was pleasantly surprised when she saw her presents and particularly thrilled her "Onesie" had arrived from Ebay in time for us to bring with us.
