Happy Easter!!!
Everyone! The Easter Bunny found us in Kalgoorlie, Chocolate together with Pancakes & Bacon/Eggs for breakfast great way to start the day. We're heading to Wave Rock via Southern Cross today. We think it may be an ideal place to open a division of Southern Cross Computer Systems, so we put the kids on the task of Graphic Design for the logo (see photos.) Stopping at the Caltex roadhouse in Southern Cross we leave armed with a wealth of local knowledge written on a paper bag, the attendant gave us directions to a place called "Frog Rock" just down the road then how we head down another road to cut through to Wave Rock. We head off down a dirt Rd dust a blazing for a good 10minutes or so then make the turn & find Frog Rock Park find the little dirt track & squeeze the big Bullant down keeping an eye on overhead branches finally making it through to a little picnic area where we find a whole family having a picnic complete with little pink bikes, obviously we are not crusaders into unmarked territory then…we ask directions to where the elusive “frog rock” is & suggest if we’re not out in an hour or so to come looking! Through the bush we go & stop at a magnificent rock face in the shape of a wave, Liam & Claire of course decide to climb up it, Claire finding thongs not a good idea (yep I told her to put runners on but what do I know!) clambers down to borrows my shoes, when they both reach the top we hear screams of delight how fantastic the view is so off we all clamber (including snake petrified Bill & me reclaiming suitable footwear) to discover not only a stunning view but many rock-pools full of tadpoles. Climbing back down proves a little harder but well worth the climb.

Heading back out on the track finds us on more dirt/dust tracks & we discover that Bill can in fact get to 125km/h towing (didn’t realise that was a goal we were aiming for) we also discovered dust can in fact get in to the cabin of the car & create an almost smokescreen effect (my car will NEVER be the same again) Liam makes the huge statement that if he ever has kids he is definitely travelling around Australia, we must be doing something right?! 170odd km later we arrive at Wave Rock Resort….we had called the day earlier to book a site as it’s still a long weekend & most of WA camp here, only to discover no booking luckily lovely lady says no trouble we’ll find a spot….that could have turned ugly! Quick unpack chat to a few neighbours including a family who we are stalking or vice versa as we have seen them at just about every stop, & it’s off to see WaveRock turns out to be very similar to Frog Rock only bigger and tourists everywhere….oh wait that’s us too. Feeling energised from our earlier mountain climbing we also climb Wave rock only here you get stairs & chain…pfft we didn’t need that at Frog Rock! Stunning view although clearly a lot higher I make the stupid mistake of looking down & all over red rover I’m outta there. Back on solid ground we re-group & head on the Hippo’s yawn trail 1.4km Claire & Liam win (was it a race?) then we have the choice of 2 return trips back
the way we came or the arrow pointing trail, Bill & Emma head via arrow Claire Liam & I head back the way we came now it’s a race we almost run it knowing they will casually walk we think we have it in the bag….NOT clearly they found a portal that zapped them back or maybe it was a shorter track, point goes to Bill & Em.

Spag & meatballs for dinner (so over BBQs) and its bed early for this rock climbing Mob.
