Arrived smoothly in Istanbul. After a long series of flights there is nothing better than being met at the airport by a man with a sign bearing your name. We loved our driver to the hotel, who proved to be a worthy tour guide. I think he liked us too as he gave Russel a big kiss after our arrival at the hotel. After the relatively quiet and controlled environment of the airplane, the streets of Istanbul felt especially chaotic and exciting. Crossing the street is a sport.....like big game hunting. The stragglers, old and sick are lucky to survive. We all survived, in fact everbody did remarkably well, and are looking forward to tomorrow.
