Dayton - made it!

Trip stats:
-584 miles
-9 hours of driving
-Four states
-27 state license plates crossed off (not Alaska or Hawaii yet)
-Left Summit with six bikes on back; arrived in Dayton with six bikes on back. Whew!

Lessons learned:
-Car audio/video system headphones break easily and are expensive to replace.
-One sat-upon Raisinette can leave large brown marks on the rump of a child's white shorts.
-In Ohio, you don't get thunderstorms; you get gullywashers.

Good luck trying to find a Hawaii plate on the mainland. I tried renting a car in Hawaii and driving it back, but didn't get very far!!!

Which license plate do you see the most? I find there are a lot of people from Quebec on the road this summer.

We are surprised that we haven't seen more Canada plates. In fact we have barely seen any. We have seen a lot of Texas and whatever state we are driving in that day.

All look to be having a wonderful time. With such good planning and team leaders and enthusiastic players, why not! Enjoy the clean air and a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

See any tornadoes?
