I met up with Conal here in Wanaka and he very kindly let me stay in his spare room for 2 nights. It was great having my own room again! On Saturday we jammed for a couple of hours on his back porch then headed out to Puzzling World. The maze here is great, there are 4 towers (yellow, green, blue & red) on each corner of the maze and the objective is to find each one in order starting with yellow. It must have taken us nearly 40 mins just to find the yellow one, kept finding green. However, we had learned most of the maze at that stage and completed the challenge in just under an hour. After that we walked up the top of Mt. Iron for some nice views over Wanaka and then headed into town to Shooters for happy hour. 6 jugs later and we head for the Bullock bar to meet some locals and then on to a cocktail bar where we drank so much JD and shots and a Flaming Lamborgini (ask about one of these if you ever in Wanaka in the cocktail bar beside Barluca). Wanaka was a nice rest from the relentless schedule of early starts with the Magic bus and the various activities everyday. I am happy to have explored almost every bar in Wanaka, it is a good little town. I am holding out until Queenstown before doing anything snow related again..
