Continued from Part One..

Day Four
--------

I got a lift up the mountain today with Gareth a guy in my dorm. There was heavy snow yesterday and the road did not open until 9:30am. We needed to have chains on for the higher sections. The snow today was amazing and it was great for falling over in. I got a day pass ($79) and rented my snow board and boots (2 days $75) from Big Als. I had a great day today and I am now comfortable on the beginner runs and have moved onto the intermediate runs (not from the very top). For the first time I am begining to look like a snow boarder. The snow is a lot thicker and rougher on parts of the intermediate run and it is a lot steeper so I found it difficult to begin with. I had some spectacular crashes but nothing too bad. Really enjoyed it today.

Day Five
--------

Today, I was able to go down the intermediate slope with a lot more confidence. I am begining to go a lot faster now and don't shit myself quite so much. I decided to take the 6 seater (the quad is so damn slow) up to the summit to admire the view. I couldn't bring myself to take the chairlift back down so I decided to ride down from the top. It was fucking great, really got some speed up! The runs at the top are quite narrow so I was afraid to switch between my toe and heel edges in case I went over the side. It widens out after a bit and it is so much fun. The weather was amazing and the snow was perfect.

I am leaving Methven and catching a lift to Lake Tekapo tommorrow. I will do some more boarding when I get down to Queenstown and meet up with Amjid.

Catching some righteous hangtime on the snow dude.
Hey dude, sounds like a blast. Don't spend much time in Queenstown, it's really expensive and full of knob jockeys, nice place though, mountains are fantastic.
Head to lake Taupo if you can, really cheap ski diving there.
