Okay, I know it has been quite a while since I have updated this blog. You see I have not really been travelling as such, just been working for the last three months. However, let me tell you a bit about my time here in Sydney. I have been in room 21, Billabong Gardens, Newtown for 3 months now. I have met a lot of cool people and made some friends there (Dan, Nick, Julia, Sarahs, Nick, Richy, James and quite a few more). Billabong Gardens is one of the best hostels I have stayed in and is reasonably quiet as a lot of the people that have been there for a while are working. The staff are great as well, particularly Rod who is very knowledgable and has done loads of stuff. Newtown is also a great place to live if you are going to spend some time in Sydney. It is very diverse, the Courthouse is probably my favourite pub and usually would end up in the Towny afterwards. Loads of places to eat. I have been exploring the $5 & $10 menus up and down King St. Dendy is also my favourite cinema and I have been to quite a few movies on Monday nights (cos it is cheap). Actually, there is nothing to stop you walking into a movie without paying but nobody does it. I bought a bike while I was here and cycled to work everyday across harbour bridge. The train was doing my head in and in the evenings I would usually get a train to Redfern and walk to Newtown because hardly any of the trains stop at Newtown station. There have been a few pretty cold weeks here in Sydney (I have gotten very soft recently, wait till I get back to an Irish winter again, urgghhh). It is begining to get a bit nicer now again although it has been raining all day today. I have managed to save quite a bit of money here and have not really been boozing it up very much. This weekend could be a bit messy though now that I am a travelling man again.

It was great to catch up with with Craig & Danielle, Mike & Morag, my old flat mates when they were living in Dublin for a couple of months. Great to see that they have stayed friends.

On Tuesday, I am flying to Christchurch, New Zealand. I will be travelling around NZ for 6 weeks. Probably a month or so on the south island and 2 weeks on the north. I fly out of Auckland to Cairns via Brisbane. I decided to go to NZ first instead of heading up the coast because I want to try my hand at snowboarding and skiing. My buddy Amjid is in Queenstown, he is a snowboarder and I am hoping that he can get me started. I hope to meet up with Conal, Babs and Ciaran at some point. I am so happy to be finished working now and I can travel freely for the next few months without having to travel. I am hearing a lot of good things about NZ. Can't wait..

Currently, I am trying to sell all this stuff that I have accumalated or that has been given to me \ left behind by other roomates...

Expect more frequent blogage from now on...
