I decided to come over to Taz so that I can detox. The last couple of weeks in Jacksons have been quite heavy on the aul liver. My brain feels like there is a fat man sitting on my cerebelum as a result of all the goon that has been consumed. So, six of us (Liam, Gary, Dean, Rob, Pete & I) hopped on the ferry and headed for Taz. The ferry journey was quite intolerable and the sleeping area was shit. The crossing can be quite rough so there was people spewing, coughing, snoring etc; and could not get any sleep. It was a bit like an infirmiry. Next time, I am bringing my sleeping bag and roll mat and sleeping up stairs on deck 10.

Anyway, we met a Tassie guy on at the bar on the ferry called Ashley and he took us out on his dad's yacht. We sailed all around Hobart bay, it was great. The yacht really lists from side to side in the wind. At one stage we were at a 45 degree angle as I was fighting the wheel trying to straighten up Bruny Island
Bruny Island
. Great fun. We stayed in the Pickled Frog Backpackers mainly because of the cool name. It was a good friendly hostel and they even had an organ which was fun.

We took a trip down to Port Arthur and did the prison ghost tour which was a bit cack but I knew that as I did this in Fremantle prison too, much better ghost tour there. We stopped off at the Taz Devil park on the way and sneaked in the back. It is $20 in and is really not worth it. There is a one way turnstyle gate at the back that if you are slim you can squeeze through no problem. So got to see some Taz Devils, ugly fuckers!

We spent 3 nights in Hobart.
