Susi and Jo were wrecked so I headed out to Bojangles with some Slovenian girls I had met in the hostel. Turned out to be a really good night. Not sure how I am going to see the rock and get down to Adelaide now but hey, it is all part of the adventure!
My arrival in Alice was greeted with a loud bang from underneath Fredrica. The engine subsequently stalled and left us stranded in the middle of a busy intersection in the middle of Alice. We were able to start the engine again and get her parked up but she is not a happy camper. There is water leaking out from somewhere in the engine and the loud bang was the exhaust exploding. We got most of our stuff and got a taxi to Toddys hostel. I was talking to some people in the hostel and they said that if I left my car there outside Civic Video that it would more than likely be stripped by the time I came back to it on Monday. That had me a little worried. It is Saturday so I can't get anyone to look at it until Monday. I met a local mechanic at the hostel so he towed it to his workshop, says he will look at it on Monday. I bumped into him today after he took a quick look at it and he reckons that the car is extremly not well (his words). Reckons one of the cylinders might be blown. If that is the case then it may cost too much to fix it and I might have to scrap poor Fredrica. I am lucky that all this happened in Alice and not out in the bush.
