Well, I have just completed my first roadtrip, and I must say it was sensational. First off, Fredrica was exceptional, she is not too bad on fuel, easy to drive (all though I nearly lost her on a dirt road, messing around) and reasonably comfy. The passenger side door no longer opens from the outside so you have to go in via the boot when all the doors are locked. Its kinda fun.

There were 5 of us travelling: Valerie (Sydney - Lebonise Ambassador), Francois (Belgium - Carny), My (Sweden - Moo) and Kati (Finland - Pool Champion '99 - '01). We are all quite different and we all got on really well. We spent a night in the Margeret River Backpackers Lodge which was great. Really chilled. We had pizza in Goodfellas and got lost in the dark on the way back. The next day we went to some beaches and did 2 wine tours (Leuven & ???). We then drove to Pemberton and climbed the Glouchester tree which is 60 meters high. It has a series of metal rods driven in to the tree trunk that spiral to the tree top where there is a small viewing platform. It feels quite unsafe especially since it had been raining for 2 days solid. Just me and Valerie were brave enough to climb to the top. We spent the night in Denmark in a lovely backpackers called the Denmark Budget Accomadation. The manager was a young guy who was raising a young Joey whose mother was killed. We got to hold it; first kangoroo that I have seen alive.

The next day we checked out Elephant rock and green pool which was great and then we went to a honey winery. Never knew that there was so many flavours of honey. We drive for the best part of 5 hours back to Perth hoping to catch the Australia day fireworks. Unfortunately we missed them but we did spend the journey drinking and singing renditions of Waltzing Matilda and Tie My Kangaroo down. Valerie had all these moves for Waltzing Matilda which were hilarious. We also coined the term "crap" so anytime we did something or seen something that was obviously good and someone asked what we thought of it, we would respond by saying "Its crap" or "Its just a fucking rock". It was very funny.

I will miss these guys when I make my way up to Darwin. Valerie is in two minds whether or not to come. I hope she does cos I really like her.
