Our good friend Stefan whom we first met in Mr. Buns, Wellington lives in Erfurt. We stayed 2 nights with Stefan and he showed us around his city. Erfurt is the nicest little city that I have visited in Germany. We did a night walking tour where we learned a lot about the history in Erfurt, about Martin Luther and how they made the color blue here. To this day there is a saying in Erfurt "Ich mache heute Blau" meaning I am not going to work today as I was up all night drinking beer and supplying urine : ). To make this color they needed a lot urine so there were special latrines where locals could take a piss and it would be collected for making blue. There was even a brewery dedicated to facilitating the production of more urine. In fact it one may have even received money for donating urine for blue production. ( note to self, check my facts here). We also visited Weimar where Goethe & Shiller ran amuck. We had a really nice impression of Erfurt during our visit. Thanks Stefan!
