It's a livaboard for 5 days, 4 nights cruising around the Samilian islands.
It's costing me a whopping $480 for the trip, and for that i get 14 dives (inc 3 night dives) all food/drink, and equipment hire is included.
I booked it with west coast divers (fairly popular in Phuket) that has a boat large enough to accomodate 16 divers.
The trip was really excellent.
The boat was well equipped with 2 beth A/C cabins, and good quality dive equipment.
Of the 14 possible dives i managed to complete 12.
For the first time on my trip i used my digital underwater housing, of which i eventually got some fairly good underwater shots. (considering it's the 1st time iv'e taken underwater picstures)
Although it's not as easy as you might think taking underwater pictures.
First of all you had to make sure your boyancy was perfect, then you had to get the angle positioning just right. Unfortunatley my camera wasn't great at taking close up shots of the small fish. Because the shutter speed was fairly slow, many of the images came out blurry, and the automatic flash was not help whatsoever.
But the good thing with digital is...If it's no good delete it!
On our first day we saw a turtle, second day 2 leopard sharks, and fourth day huge manta rays sweeping overhead. The large variety of sea life around the samilian islands was mind blowing.
I had got used to the swaying of the boat, and it took me a good 24hrs for the swaying sensation to go, and not walk along the street like i was walking on the surface of the moon!!!
Now i'm back in noisy Phuket...Horay!.
Land of the 'package holidaymaker' most in search of pubs, clubs, overpriced food, and dancing go go girls!!!-Paradise.
