Where I stayed
New Mary V Guest House
I managed to catch the large ferry to mainland Thailand, which was a relief.
The bus i boarded was a super V.I.P bus, or so i was told. They said it had air conditioning, a T.V on board, even a toilet.
There was nothing 'super' about this bus.
Yeah it was a big bus, and yes it showed a film that was obviously filmed in a cinema with a camcorder, because the quality was poor, and you would occasionally hear the audience laughing, and the odd head pop up in the bottom of the screen!!!
More importantly was my seat...it happened to be under the toilets extractor fan, that blew foul smelling air around me . (that was especially bad when the toilet was used) Either that or someone on board had severe gut problems.
Our driver (a happy man) obviously smoked a lot judging by his 'husky' voice,(Maria foxtrop eat your heart out) and by the way he loudly coughed up flem regulary, spitting it into a pot he had by his seat.
'Super V.I.P' my arse, i thought!.
Anyway we arrived in Bangkok at 6am after 21 hours, completley knackered only to have trouble finding a hostel with a room vacant. After walking around for over 1 hour i managed to find a room at the 'NEW MERRY V GUEST HOUSE'although there was nothing "merry" about the lady behind reception who had a face like a slapped arse!!! (To look at you would think it was her that had just been travelling under a toilet vent for the last 22 hours)Anyway i checked in to my room, where i was able to catch up on the lack of sleep.
Over the next 2 days i picked up my Vietnam visa, and flight tickets, making final plans before catching a bus to the airport....
80 minutes after take off, we touched down in Hanoi.
