So we took the ABELA sleeping train from cairo to Luxor, and it was uneventful, for once. we were a little late to arrive to Luxor. instead of getting in at 5AM, we got in at 6:30AM, but that worked out nicely cuz we got a nice little cabby - whom my friends later called for a tour. anyway, so we started our tour of KARNAK temple around 7:00AM and that worked like a charm. we avoided all the crowds... of course, and were able to finish off LUXOR temple before noon. we also had a chance to take a little nap, which was nice cuz the LUXOR museum was closed anyway. So we did the east bank the first day, and I did a tour on the West Bank the next day. it was really nice!
