Due to available places to stay the days cycling was not very long. The options were either 60 miles or 100 miles and so the cyclists naturally chose to cycle the lesser distance. Even though it was the last day on the flat the headwinds continued to make life difficult. We ended up in a Super 8 Motel in Chanute, Kansas.
At the motel we met another cyclist heading in the opposite direction for Pediatrics. We exchanged experiences as to what is to come and so this is when we learned the road ahead is not going to be all smooth sailing.
