I finally made it to Buenos Aires after about a one hour delay leaving Atlanta.
On my arrival, my friend, Juan Luis and his father, Dante,  were kind enough to meet me at the airport.  Thank goodness for that.  They gave me a tour of the city by car and pointed out several points of interest,  a few I would search for later on my own.
About an hour or two later they took me to the place I would be staying during my visit - Posada de la luna.  A lovely bed and breakfast. There s a huge street market on Sundays a few blocks from the B&B.  I took a walk over there but since it had been raining there were not too many people selling or looking.  Later in the evening Juan and Dante picked me up and I went to their home and had dinner with them and Juans's mother and Dante's wife, Aida.  We had empanadas, homemade and store bought.  The homemade ones were much better.  The family had two cats which made me feel relaxed since I have a cat , Miss Lulu.   Juan and I exchanged Cd's.  We had met years ago on ICQ when he was looking for someone from another country to chat with and have kept in touch off and on with one another all this time.  I discovered he had an interest in music form the 60's and 70's which I certainly could tell him a lot about.  It is such a breath of fresh air to be able to talk with someone of his age about music from that era.  And he is very knowledgeable.  Anyone who knows who Steeleye Span is without asking "do you mean Steely Dan" wins points in my book.
After eating and talking about customs and politics, they took me back to the inn and we made plans to get a more extensive tour of the city the next day.
