Traveling for life is awesome! I was dropped off at the train station about 12 noon in Slovenia with a plan to catch the next train to Venice, Italy. I soon found out the next train to Venice was only once a day and it leaves everyday at 2:30 in the morning. This did not appeal to me at all so I checked the train schedule and the soonest train leaving was in two hours and it was headed to Zagreb, Croatia! This seemed ideal! I arrived in Zagreb a few hours later and found me a hostel then went and checked out the beautiful city that night and the next day. The following night I met a guy from Greece and a girl from California. We decided to leave on a bus early the next morning to go to the Plitvice National Park a few hours away from Zagreb. It is an amazing park filled with beautiful light green lakes and amazing waterfalls. There was one waterfall after another cascading down out of the beautiful autumn forest. It was filled with so many vibrant colors it was hard to leave one spot because I was afraid the next spot might not be as magical but it always turned out to be just as amazing! It started raining on us late in the afternoon when I struck conversation with an English couple that had luckily rented a car and were going the same direction as us, west to Zadar. We hitched a ride to Zadar arriving about 7pm, still raining hard. The guy from Greece and I decided we would go ahead and catch a night bus that would leave at 10:45 and arrive in the coastal city Dubrovnik, Croatia the next morning at 6 to save money on a hostel. It was pretty tight quarters and we didn't sleep very well due to the two stops by the border patrol. I'm not sure but I guess we had to cross over into Bosnia for a short detour. I was sound asleep when the agents tapped me on the shoulder both times asking for my passport, it surprised me. But everything was fine and we made it to Dubrovnik bus station being greeted by an old lady as soon as I got off the bus offering me a room to stay in at her house for $13 US a night. A private well semi-private room shared with the guy from Greece and a private bathroom sounded perfect at 6 in the morning so we took her up on her offer and it is perfect!

The first time I heard of Dubrovnik was in a Liza Minnelli song in the '70's and I thought then, "I'd love to go there some day". Thanks for taking me. Love.

My goodness, Trenton, what an adventure! I can't even begin to imagine the beauty you are seeing and the friends you are making in your travels. Thanks for sharing the pictures. And to think I thought I was a traveler just going to Costa Rica. WOW! But I wouldn't (couldn't) travel the way you are. This takes alot of faith. Now when is your final destination? Stay safe and God bless your travels.
