I arrived in Amsterdam yesterday by a 3 hour train ride from Brussels. The young lady in the seat beside me made it a pleasant trip. Her name was Sabine from Brussels and she was a contemporary dance artist. She told me all about her dancing and how many different countries her profession had taken her to. She told me if I ever came back to Brussels to be sure and get in touch with her and I would always have a free place to stay. Awesome girl. Amsterdam is a wild place full of pot smoking and prostitution. Marijuana is available in pretty much every "coffee shop" all you have to do is ask for a menu. As most of you know I do not and have not ever even tried weed and still do not want to. The Red Light District is something interesting to see. There are big and old buildings with small rooms one right after the other with it's own private door leading in to a small room with a bed in it. These doors are on the main sidewalks and small back alleys. The doors are solid glass doors with curtains, when the curtain is open you can see beautiful exotic women standing in the window in nothing but their underwear with a bed behind them. When the curtain is closed she either has a client or is not working that day. I hired a local guy to give me the scoop on everything and he said their were 250 rooms nearly almost always having the women working in them. He said you have to be careful though because some of them are transvestites.
Amsterdam also has a lot more to offer than just the drugs and sex. It has rivers running all through the city and a very wide selection of restaurants with food from all over the world ranging from Argentina to India. It is a beautiful place and everybody should see it. When my grandmother wasn't sure about something and was leaning more to not liking it she would just say hmm that's interesting. So to Amsterdam hmm what an interesting place.

I loved Amsterdam, although I never ventured over to the RLD or into any of the "coffee shops.". It's a gorgeous city and had incredible food! Glad you can check it off your list!

I like how you start talking about the prostitutes and then you quickly move onto saying, "I hired a local..." My mind definitely jumped to a different conclusion before my eyes moved to the next line to read..."guy to give me the scoop." hahaha, no reflection on you, just using context clues.
