Sharon gave me the keys to her apartment in Ghent which was really awesome of her. She told me the street name and the number of her apartment but not the actual building I was suppose to be looking for. Well first of all when I got to Ghent I walked out of the train station and got on the tram which I soon realized was going the wrong direction as we neared the outskirts of town, the expo center and an IKEA. That's right an IKEA, I had no idea I would see one in Ghent, Belgium. Heck for all I know they started here? I then explained to the tram conductor that I accidentally got on the wrong tram and he said to just stay on and he would let me know where my stop was. When I got off and found the street I was looking for I was hoping there would only be one big apartment building since I had no clue what I was looking for. Of course this wasn't the case, there were many huge apartment buildings lining the street. I turned in circles for a minute like I was going to guess which one was the right one haha but of course that didn't work so I went to each one and tried the main key she gave me to get in to the lobby and finally about the sixth one opened and that big smile came across my face again! I went part of the way up the dark stairs and it just kept getting darker so I turned back and found a light switch. It helped tremendously. I found the apartment I was looking for and stuck the key in the door and tried to unlock it but it just kept turning in circles so I turned the other way, still nothing happened. Elien the roommate heard me trying to un-lock the door and she tried to open it from the inside. She then let's me know that I did something wrong and she was locked in and I was locked out so I did what always works. I hit it really hard and it opened! I had never really thought about being in the country where the Belgian waffles obviously came from and being able to eat one while I was here until Sharon mentioned it to me yesterday and I was like "Belgian waffles? OH YEAH THIS IS WHERE THEY COME FROM! SWEET!" I had to try them so when I woke up this morning I asked Elien if she would join me for some real Belgian waffles and she said they don't really eat them for breakfast but sure she would show me a good place to have some. They were very tasty with home made whipped cream on them. I then had my own private tour around Ghent. It is a beautiful city and there is going to be a lot of live music on the river tonight in the main plaza.

Sharon is obviously a wonderful person and so is Elien. Ghent sounds like a great place. Do they eat the waffles for dessert? Can't wait to hear about the music on the plaza and see the new pictures. I'm glad you have figured out how to put them on the blog. We miss you. Love.
