This travelogue will feature some stories and pictures from New York made on many, may trips. My most recent stop over was for Thanksgiving in 2006, but I have visited many times and would love to share some pictures and stories.
I have seen and visited the Statue of Liberty numerous times and went up inside of it in 1987.
Also in 1987, I took a boat with my family to visit and tour Ellis Island. It had originally been an entry point for 12 million immigrants from 1892-1954.
On my trip on May 31, 2003 I visited three national sites with my cousins Mike and Jason.
First we visited General Grant Memorial (aka Grant's Tomb) and discovered who is actually buried in Grant's Tomb.
Later in the day we visited the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site and toured his childhood home. There was also a fantastic museum of all of his accomplishments.
We finished the day by touring Castle Clinton National Monument. It was a fort built before the War of 1812.
On my trip on November 23rd we visited Federal Hall which is where George Washington made his inaugural speech. It was also the location of the Zenger trial.
Many, many years ago I visited Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame with my dad, and friends Barry, Greg and Lloyd.
