I started the morning with a massage. It was well needed after so many hours of driving and sleeping in a tent on this trip. After I had a large greasy breakfast.
I drove up the hill in Deadwood to the Mt. Moriah Cemetery and saw the final resting spot of Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane.
Once I left Deadwood, I made a very long journey southeast. Along the way in South Dakota I stopped at Mitchell to visit the Corn Palace. With all of the jokes I have heard at my expense associating corn and Iowa, I have to sya that I don't remember any palaces being constructed from corn in Iowa!!
I continued my 680 mile drive to Des Moines where I styaed with my Uncle Russ and Aunt Jane. We sat up for a while and caught up. It was great to sleep in a comfortable bed finally.
