I spent most of the day driving, and east towards home.  I even found time to stop to have a final oil chan ge before the long drive home.

I made one stop at Canyon Creek National Historical Battlefield.  There wasn't a whole lot more than a plaque there commerorating the fight between the Nez Perce Indians and the U.S. Army.

After driving further east and getting a reservation for a hotel made in Billings, I drove a bit further east to Pompeys Pillar National Historic Landmark.  Here, during the exploration of Lewis and Clark, Clark carved his name and date into the sandstone.  Now this remaiins as the only actual physical evidence of their exploration.
