Started the morning driving east on Route 66/I40. All in all I drove 320 miles to Blythe, California. Blythe? Yeah, I never heard of it either, but the important part is that I made it across the country to California!!
After the short jog east I headed south in Arizona down I17 for well over 100 miles. It was like a roller coater that required 100 percent concentration and both hands on the wheel Unlike Florida, for 100 miles there were NO straight-aways.
It is so hot here! The temperature reached 113 degrees. Every moment outside feels like being crushed down to the pavement by the heat.
