New Bedford Whaling Park
On June 27th I drove 43 miles to and in New Bedford, Massachusetts. I saw the Seamen's Bethel
New Bedford Seamen's Bethel
, a church built in 1832, and used in Moby Dick. I drove to the pier to see 2 lighthouses. New Bedford also commemorates
the Underground Railroad and Herman Melville.
New Bedford Lighthouse
Later I drove 170miles to Weir Farm National Historic Site in Connecticut and saw the former home of J. Alden, founder of the Impressionist tradition.
Weir Farm
Then I drove 73 miles to New York City and surprised my cousin Jason. Stayed with him that night.
