On July 3rd I drove 51c miles to Catoctin Mountains Park in
Maryland. I hiked 4 miles roundtrip up a mountain to Chimney Rock where
I sat among the clouds to enjoy a view. I jumped some treacherous
ledges to gain a better view.

Later in the morning I drove to Monocacy National Battlefield, the battle that saved Washington DC in the CivilWar.

Later I drove 74 miles to Antietam National Battlefield and then
drove 17 miles through Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historic Park
along the way to arrive at Harpers Ferry National Historic Park.
Harpers was a great town with so much American history. I saw remnants
of the Civil War, African American roots, site of the John Brown raid
and part of the Appalachian Trail. Thomas Jefferson, Robert E Lee and
George Washington had both been here too.
