Fossil Butte 1
Fossil Butte 1
I left the Tetons at 9AM on July 2nd and drove 156 miles to Fossil Butte National Monument in Wyoming and arrived at 1:20PM. There were beautiful hills/buttes of every shade of red, yellow, orange, brown and green. Fossil Butte 2

Originally they were below a lake 50 million years ago and fossils were taken from there.
Later I drove 196 miles to Vernal, Utah. Along the way I stopped at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area

Twenty miles before arrival was a "Drive Through the Ages" on a road where dinosaurs had roamed and ancient seas had flowed.
