On July 27th we disembarked in Sicily and went to our hotel for breakfast.  Later we went on a tour of the city and visited Palatine Cathedral and Monreale.  In the afternoon we visited the catacombes which had hundreds of mumified skeletons.  From there we drove to the top of Mount Pellegrino to overlook Palermo.  It was an impressive view.

Our tour group left Palermo in the morning on July 28th and made a stop at Agrigento to visit the ancient Greek temples from 500-400BC.  They were in incredible condition and well
intact.  We left there around 1PM and then arrived at Grande Allegro Capotarmina hotel in Taromino, Sicily.  The hotel was located on a cliff over the Mediterranean Sea.

On the 29th wevisited and walked around Corso Umberto in Taromino, Sicily.

At around 11AM, nine of us rented a van and took a trip to Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe.  We took a sky ride to a higher part of the mountain and reached 10,000 of the 11,000 foot summit.  From there I was able to walk down in to the crater.  There were pieces of lava rock all over the ground.
It looked as though I was walking on the moon.

On July 31st we traveled to the island of Capri.  Once there we took tiny boats into a cave called the Blue Grotto.  The water here was a different, crystal clear blue color.  There were so many cliffs soaring out of the water and homes on the sides of the mountains.
