Guilin pagoda
This morning I took a 5 hour cruise on the Li River. The river is amazingly beautiful! All along the riverside are numerous mountains that just dart steeply straight up. They are unlike traditional mountains and instead are narrow, sttep and lush with green and vegetation.

After finishing the cruise we ended in Yangshuo. There I walked around a market for almost an hour. Next I took a countryside tour in Yanggshuo. WE drove by some areas where they plant rice and even took a tour of a local home.

The hilight of the countryside tour was floating down a different river on a small bamboo boat. The scenary was just amazing!

Today I took a full day tour of Guilin. I was joined by just one other couple from London.

Our first stop was Seven Star Park. There was something for everyone in this park. There was an ampitheaterfor shows. There was a rock museum with all kinds of rocks from all over the world and various periods in time. There was even a small zoo here.

The next stop was the Reed Flute Cave. The cave got its name from a kind of flutes growing outside which can be made into melodious flutes. The cave is filled with a large number of stalactites, stalagmites, rocks in all strange shapes. The cave is about 240 meters long and a trip last about one hour. Along the u-shaped route, visitors can see those oddly shaped rocks, stone pillars and your guide will give you interesting story about them. Illuminated by the colored lights, the cave looks like a dazzling palace that's why the cave is otherwise known as the " Art Palace of the Nature". Inside the cave there are more than 70 inscription written in ink, which can dating back to 792 AD during the Tang Dynasty, over one thousand years ago. These aged marks tell that it have been an attraction in ancient time.

After lunch we visited a small park and saw Fubo Hill. Insdie a small cave by the hill were some old carved Buddhas.

Finally we walked along a river and viewed Elephant Hill. Elephant Hill is located at the confluence of Li River and Peach Blossom River in the southwest of Guilin city. It looks like a huge elephant stretching its trunk drinking water hence the name.
