Very quiet flight where I had three seats to myself allowing me to spread out and relax. I was flying with Dragonair for the first time since they were taken over by Cathay Pacific, and it was the first time that I was on a Dragonair flight that was not late. Coincidence or good work from the Cathay team? I'll assume the latter until the return flight.
Gavin was kind enough to organize a driver to pick me up at the airport so I did not have to navigate myself to his new apartment, nor did I have to weigh up the comparative cost of various modes of transport. It did mean I missed out on the maglev though. If you are going to Shanghai I highly recommend it as it goes up to 268 mph!
This trip is a bonus as I am staying with Gavin and so I am saving the money that I would usually be spending on a hotel. This will help me a) retrospectively fund my upgrade to a suite in Pattaya and b) not have to closely track my spending on other things...not that I have been doing this yet anyway. I think it will become more important in a year when the funds are significantly depleted.
