Our first stop in Breckenridge was while we were headed West. That was a quick stop en route. This time we are spending 4 days relaxing before we head home. My cousin Phyllis and her husband Kenny live here. They took us sightseeing on Monday and made us a delicious Spaghetti dinner. It was really nice to have a little pasta for a change. Today we took the jeep to an elevation of 13000 feet climbing peak 9 at Breckenridge Ski Resort. It was an easy trail compared to what we did in Moab, but at least no one was screaming or crying this time. The views were fantastic. We vowed not to stop climbing until we reached the snowy peaks that we could see from the base of the mountain. After a couple of hours of driving we finally reached some snow at one of the bowls near the top of peak 9. It was a surreal experience to have a snowball fight in Late July. During our decent, a thunderstorm rolled in to add a little spice to the trip. We had our first real rain of the trip upon our return from 4 wheeling. It rained hard for 20 minutes and then let up before the sun returned. We are lucky to have our campground surrounded by two rivers. Hunter and Colby have spent a good amount of time fishing over the last few days. Colby landed this beautiful rainbow trout in th epicture below this morning.
