What makes you wander far from home,
leave life, love and laughter and set your spirit to roam.

Cross deserts and oceans, scale mountains and valleys,
live wild and free strolling dark city alleys.

The comforts and safety of a warm cozy bed,
the security of family and a place to rest your head.

The routine that you live from morning to night,
whittling away the hours unfulfilled, just drifting through life.

Until that day that you leave it all behind,
set your sights to the horizon and free your soul to find.

All that there is to discover, and adventure and explore,
the vibrant dancing colors of a not-so-distant shore.

Awaken your senses to an existence cut bare,
leave behind all your burdens and worrisome cares.

Reborn and alive in every gasp of fresh air,
eyes open to the world, always giving its fair share.

Granting wisdom and experience and love from all things,
nurturing patience and tolerance and spreading your wings.

To fly through this life seeing from a birds eye,
the true meaning of it all, not just to live and to die.

Make every moment matter, open yourself to the world,
live freely, love passionately and succumb to its swirls.

We're all only granted a small sliver of time,
a brief flash of existence, a short span to shine.

When it’s all over and the last page is turned,
all that will matter in the end is what you have learned.

About life, love and laughter and the people you touched,
the ones that mean everything on this endless trip towards the dusk.
