Hide behind a veil, silken nothings leave a trail.

Frost and cold and barren fires,
lost hopes and dreams in funeral pyres.

So skilled at concealing all you wish,
sweet nothings and longings evaporate in a kiss.

Retreat behind your wall of self,
raise mortars and turrets and shields of stealth.

Waste away your days of what may be,
and stay safe in existence solitary.

Nothing gained, nothing lost, no fears and no desires,
feigned control and conceit never lead you much higher.

One's heart and one’s soul can never be led,
what’s lost is now found and living now dead.

Until you awake and finally see,
the truth of all life and of, "What may be."

That somewhere out there is a similar soul,
burning lost in the wild and searching for home.

Crashing, carving through life, cutting paths through the fog,
wreaking havoc on nature and living recklessly till the dawn.

When the sun rises on shapes silken, slender and smooth,
golden ambers of skin shining sultry in hue.

And the wind screams out plain and the trees are laid bare,
and the earth stops its movement being suddenly aware.

Of all that really matters, all that causes it to spin,
keeps the universe in flux and the endless cycle to begin.

The very moment that all preconceptions are torn,
all walls are demolished and all emotions are worn.

On the tips of our tongues and the whisper of leaves,
nothing hidden or protected in the warm summer breeze.

Just the soft gentle kiss of natures sweet song,
the long lingering melody of memories far gone.

Asleep and ablaze in the warmth of what’s real,
a love and a trust you can finally feel.
