Sing to me in soft whispers, tones of shadows and dusk,
hearts drum out deafening rhythms, full of passion and lust.

Nothing about this is normal, no page scripted or read,
lives cross haphazardly followed by small trails of bread.

To find our way back and know where we are,
to see the way forward and gauge just how far.

The steps it will take to bring me back to you,
the oceans I'd cross, the mountains I’d move.

Distance is a solace in the heart of the unknown,
never fearing what may be, never knowing what’s sown.

Until the brief flash of light reveals all in its gaze,
two hearts beating as one - lost and found in the haze.

Of this great big wide world, leagues and lives stand apart,
but to know it exists brings a spark to my heart.

Echoes of shapes and shadows still dance on a thread,
phantoms of you haunt heart, soul and head.

Wandering freely, untethered, unbound and alive,
finding wisdom and passion and love of a kind.

That releases the seeker in search of his home,
sets his journey due east to a land that’s unknown.

Alive and alight with fury and soul,
awake and determined to find what was shown.

In moments of truth, hidden by skin, flesh and bone,
the hint of a future of life fully grown.

Wander on weary traveler, let the road be your guide,
seek your fortune in experience and steel your heart and your eyes.

The world works in ways that can never be known,
but knowledge comes quickly when you’re light years from home.
