After that I spent a few days in Noosa, which is a nice little beach town with lots of surfer types and a nice national park and after that I spent a few nights in Brisbane. It was nice being in a city again but there wasn't an awful lot to do there.

Then onto Byron Bay which was one of my favourite spots on the east coast. I met up with the girls from Airlie Beach (Liberty, Katie and Lisa) and some of the girls from my Fraser trip (Michelle and Katrina from Cork and Noreen and Gina from New York). Byron has some great nightlife and there are quite a few live music venues, which makes a nice change from the usual backpacker bars. But of course we ended up in Cheeky Monkeys, where its compulsory to dance on the tables (not for cash) until you drunkingly fall off...

We did a day trip (which was more than enough) to a town further inland from Byron called Nimbin. Its stuck in a 70s timewarp so everything is psychedelic and little bit too laid back. Interesting place though.

It was then onto Coffs Harbour which would be my last stop before hitting the bright lights of Sydney. Coffs is a nice biggish town and I spent an enjoyable few days chilling out on the beaches but I was glad to get on the road again and head further south to Sydney.
