Another busy weekend in Cairo, weekend started off with a BBQ at Jessey's place. Played some card games, drank a bit and ate some great food. Went to bed early to rest up for the Saturday's big game Wiffle ball. Dave decided to have another wiffle ball tournament, and the Dirty Pirate Hookers jumped at the opportunity to crush more children's dreams and hopes. This time there was enough teachers to form two teams, Dirty Pirate Hookers and the Holey Balls. It was a great afternoon of playing wiffle ball and hanging out with other teachers and crushing children's dreams. The Dirty Pirate Hookers ended up losing to the Wilson-Lee team because a Pirate Hooker decided to show compassion to a child and let them get to second! SHOW NO COMPASSION! :)
Highlight of the game was a 3 year old little boy who played wiffle ball. I was back catching and dad had to help him hit the ball, as the little boy went up to bat, he kept talking to himself "Run really fast." Dad had to direct him to first after he hit the ball, then to second and then to third but forgot to direct him to home plate. So when the ball was hit, instead of running to home plate, the little boy cut across the diamond and headed to first.
After the game, we headed to Dave's rooftop patio for some more BBQs, drinks and music. Another great weekend.
