So MC and I woke up super early to get to Delphi, it wasn't a long bus ride, about 2.5 hours, which was a good thing. And because it was Easter Monday, the sites were free again! So the money I saved went into my leather sandals! Unfortunately because the sites were free, there was lots of people, including a few student tour groups. The highlight of Delphi is the Sanctuary of Apollo and the Sanctuary of Athena. Due to time, we only went to the Sanctuary of Apollo. The Ancient Greeks apparently thought that Delphi was the centre of the universe. The Sanctuary of Apollo was amazing to see and we spent a good few hours hiking and wandering around the different ruins at the site. MC and I being smart travelers bought some food to make lunch and we ate it along the path taking in the sites as well as laughing at the other tourists who looked hungry but had no food.
After wandering through the Sanctuary we had a drink at a restaurant that had an amazing view of the area. Sat there for awhile before catching our long bus and obscure bus ride. Yesterday we had researched the shortest way to go to Kalambaka, and the different sites told us to take a bus to Lamia and then bus it to Kalambaka. Instead our bus ride took us to Amfissa, then we took another bus ride to Larisa and then we had to take a train from Larisa to Kalambaka. Let's say that any money I saved on the sites went to transportation today. Arrived in Kalambaka late at night but even in darkness you can see some of the high mountains of Meteora that we'll be checking out tomorrow. I just hope that we get good weather. The owner (?) of the hotel says that there's a good chance of rain tomorrow :s
