So 12 of us went to the camel market to see what the big fuss was. Actually a few of us was thinking of buying a camel in the morning and see if we could make a profit by selling it later on in the day (we had high hopes the value of camels would increase towards the end of the day) but unfortunately the going rate for a 2-year old healthy camel is 5000LE (about 1000USD) and we couldn't scrape enough money to buy it. So instead we decided to enjoy the site and take as many pictures of the camels. I have never seen that many camels in one area before. I had a blast, but truthfully it wasn't what I was expecting. The camels had one leg tied up so they wouldn't make a mad dash towards the exit, but those camels can still move. I think the locals had a blast hearing us scream as a few camels would try to run off and were running towards us. All in all a fabulous day. Here's some pics from the day.
